Let's Fix Infill in Edmonton

Updated: Sep 26

There are legitimate concerns with mid-block row houses and development impacts, and they should be fixed quickly.

Infill in Edmonton is important. It supports our growing city by providing:

✅ 40% of all new homes in Edmonton
✅ Some of the lowest rents in the country, and better housing affordability
✅ Over a Billion $ in yearly private investment, and countless jobs
✅ Uses existing infrastructure, decreasing taxes for everyone
✅ Keeps schools open, and transit running, in core neighbourhoods
✅ Supports new business, and foot-traffic in our great shopping districts

We’ve got some great opportunities to direct more new homes downtown, near the LRT, and in underused areas.

To do that, we need Councillors who hear concerns, and make sound, constructive policy.

So while some Councillors are asking for more time to do their homework or proposing a “moratorium on infill”. I’ll be proposing changes that will keep Edmonton affordable and livable for everyone.
